Want to take the best ride on the island? Ever wanted to ride UP a volcano? How about taking the fastest ride ON EARTH from sea level to over 10,000 ft? A constant favorite ride for locals, Haleakalā crater is Maui's largest mountain and boasts incredible corners along the way to completely out of this world terrain and views, up to the clouds and above them. The route we take is a bit off the grid as we like to feel like we are riding our own island as long as possible. It is full of lovely, banked curves smoothly gaining elevation through the cactus fields. These roads are a motorcyclist’s dream and are only complemented by the unique and rapidly changing scenery along the way. The road continues to zig zag up the mountain showcasing unbelievable views of Lanai, Molokini and even Big Island on clear days. Once over 5000 ft, there is no more intersecting traffic, and the road gets smoother with better banks headed into the national park. Once over 9000 ft, you will truly think you have landed on Mars to explore on a motorcycle!
The temperature does drop about 25 degrees, but we do provide jackets and gloves. The entry fee to the national park is also covered by us and includes 3 additional days of access so you and your ohana can come back up for sunrise or sunset, which is what brings most people up. We mainly love the ride in the sun or sit and count shooting stars at night.
